Points of interest for Sunday’s action

There are a few interesting stories at all the venues but there is one across venue story where three pups from the first litter of Oaks winner Skellig Babe could all collect Trial Stake ticket. With two of the litter of 6 already assured of their places in Clonmel, Skellig Sunlight in Knockgraffon is the current 6-4 favourite, Skellig Kiwi is going well in Killimer Kilrush and Skibbs Babe is still standing in Rathcormac. It would be a phenomenal feat but there’s plenty of coursing between now and the finals tomorrow afternoon!

Loyal Liam and Fingal Digout will meet for the third time in two and a half weeks. They’ve previously met at the Galway and Oranmore and then the Cavan meetings. Loyal Liam has come out on top of both buckles.

In the Oaks Trial Stake Hard To Buy is a litter sister of last week’s Dungannon Trial Stake winner Rossmore.

July pup Crafty Alfresco was looking good in Ennis and Clarecastle before losing out in the semi-final. Will the the extra month or so stand to her tomorrow?

Will Pocketrocketben and Skellig Sunrise set up a repeat of their Irish Cup meeting?  Ben got a just up decision on that occasion would a potential meeting be as close tomorrow?

For a second time this season Tim and Rose O’Driscoll have a treble on the agenda going into Sunday at a Clare meeting. Skellig Kiwi is a litter sister of Skellig Blues the winner in Milltown Malbay while Skellig Sunrise is a litter brother of Skellig Way cup winner in Milltown. Skellig Tivoli is there in both.

Architectscastle, last 8 of the Derby Trial Stake, was the runner up in Edenderry and the form from the Offaly venue was been working out well with two Trial Stake winners emerging from the Derby Trial Stake there in the last week.

We’ve betting via Berkie from here and King Rooney is the 4-6 favourite before coursing. Can he finally get his season off and running?

There’s some smartly bred pups left in the two Trial Stakes. The dam of Derby winner Thomas The Tank has two offspring left in the Oaks Trial Stake, while Ms Firecracker, Gadget Girl and Skellig Babe all have pups remaining.

Enniscorthy probably hosts the buckle I’m most looking forward to heading into Sunday’s coursing with Newry Awake and Droopys Bestie set to go head to head. Awake made a favourable impression when winning his Trial Stake in Ballymena but ran rather flat in the Derby. If at his best this should be an excellent buckle.

Another Matthews charge, Ashmore King was well fancied in Westmeath before falling short in the semi-final. He’s still standing the Derby Trial Stake and mightn’t be too far away at the conclusion.

With Skellig Wish withdrawn before coursing, the Cup in Rathcormac looks particularly open. With Spruce Bolt and Austerity having won courses on their last outings what are the chances they meet in the decider?

Lochbo Zola is looking for her second Bitch Stake of the year. A win would take her onto 10 points and almost assure her off a place in Powerstown.

The Oaks Trial Stake contains a few bitches who have been knocking on the door this season. An Gealbhan has won a reserve Trial Stake, while Skibbs Babe, Beautys Lara and Britanny Abu have all reached semi finals.
