Unlike the Derby the movement around the head of the market in the Oaks was much less pronounced. Indeed with both books, Bet Brownes in particular the main movement for bitches was out, not in. In total 18 bitches had their price increased, while just 5 were cut and two of those were cut to 33-1 and 50-1 respectively. Boyles didn’t cut quite as many prices but 12 were still pushed out as a result of the draw and 6 cut.
Somelittlething– Cut by Brownes from 14-1 to 12-1 and by Boyles from 16-1 to 14-1
Needham Pine– Cut from 16-1 to 12-1 with Boyles. She had been cut last week by Brownes to 12-1
Skellig Kiwi– Cut from 16-1 to 14-1 with Boyles. Remains 14-1 with Brownes
Ballynakill Mary– Cut with Brownes 20-1 to 16-1 and with Boyles 25-1 to 20-1
Heart Light– Cut 25-1 to 20-1 with Brownes. Cut from 33-1 to 25-1 with Boyles
Among those pushed out and there were quite a few with both firms were: Horgie Baby, Fireheight Una and Sullane Jess. I’ve only singled out these ladies because they’ve seen their price increase with both firms
