Slane does the business for Coss in Thurles

Coshair Slane justified his overnight favouritism as he claimed the O’Meara Cup from Chubbys Gael in Thurles. Owned by James Coss, the second season dog followed up  his Trial Stake win on this field last season as he took home silverware for the second consecutive season. A son of Trajectory and Fingal Floss, Slane will be hoping to build on that as the season progresses.

In the All Age Bitch Stake Simtam claimed the honours for owners Doris and Liam Liddy. The daughter of Kyle James and Tullamoy Duchess, won a Trial Stake last season in Mooncoin and she got the better of Smokey Symbol who followed up her recent semi-final appearance in Cashel with a fine effort here.

The Fields got their season off and running as Kyle Fionn claimed the Derby Trial Stake. Fionn also provide them with a first Trial Stake winner for their Derby runner-up and Champion Stake winning sire Kyle Ranger. He got the better of Red Mania, a son of Kingsmill Dynamo and Skellig Mania.

Vienna Calling provided a second Trial Stake winners in as many weeks for dam Call Up as she took the Oaks Trial Stake. Owned by Michael Murphy and John Troy, Vienna Calling got the better of Kingtone Jessie, a daughter of  Adios Alonso and Ballyina Lady.
