Tom reigns in Castleisland as Oaks winner returns with a bang

Tilford Tom marked his return to the coursing fields by claiming the Island Cup in Castleisland getting the better of Shift Johnnycash in the final. Earlier in the day the son of Adios Alonso and Whitestone River got the better of Needham Simple and Sturdyandstaunch. Having gotten the better of such a top class field, the 2012 Corn na Feile winner puts himself in the frame for end of season honours.

Oaks winner Somelittlething returned in sensational style claiming the All Age Bitch Stake in Castleisland for the JEL Syndicate. Trained by John Flynn, the daughter of Kingsmill Dynamo and Moat Belle got the better of Blades of Steel in the final.

Kyle Bruce became the second of the Fields team to claim his National Meeting ticket over the weekend getting the better of Oilill Olum in the final of the Dog Trial Stake. Litter sister Boshki, hadn’t as much luck as she lost out to Churchill Queen in the final of the Oaks Trial Stake. A daughter of Blueview Sam and Gingerbread Lady, Churchill Queen is owned by John and Ben Foley and is a January whelp.
