Eastern Shore moves to the head of the Champion Stakes table

Eastern Shore, owned by Michael Ryan, claimed his second All Age Cup of the month in Freshford as he beat World at War to win the Handsome Billa and Purdon Cup to add to the Cup he collected in Fermoy just over 2 weeks ago. The son of Kingsmill Dynamo and Lochbo Polly now sits on top of the Champion Stakes table on 8 points as the first dog to win twice this season.

In the dog Trial Stake there was success for Cork manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy and his son Brian Barry-Murphy as their dog Thats The Man got the better of Jaxie Trooper to claim his ticket to Clonmel. Thats The Man is a son of Adios Alonso and Funny Honey and had one previous outing at Fermoy where he was knocked out in the opening round.

In the Oaks Trial Stake Battstreet Judy, a 5-1 chance overnight, got the better of Candy Twist to emerge victorious. Owned by Eugene McCabe, Battstreet Judy is a daughter of Kingsmill Dynamo and Beautiful Smile. The April whelp had one previous outing, at Crohane, where she lost out in the opening round but proved her quality in Freshford.
