Danger comes out on top in Listowel

Needham Danger got his season off to the best possible start as he claimed the John Prendiville Memorial Cup at Listowel for Brendan Matthews. The son of Bexhill Eoin and Lisloose Rain got the better of Tilford Tom, the recent Island Cup winner, to claim the cup and lay down his credential for the season ahead. Tilford Tom moves top of the Champion Stakes standings.

In the All Age Bitch Stake, Redhaired Mary, a daughter of Musical Time and Lakyle Lexie got the better of Horgie Baby to claim her first points of the season. The third season bitch really came into her own at this meeting last season winning the Maurice Cahill Memorial Stake. She went onto win the Bitch Stake in Tipperary. Horgie Baby moves onto 6 Champion Bitch Stake points.

In the Derby Trial Stake at Listowel Serene Angel, a son of Adios Alonso and Uptown Angel claimed his place at Clonmel when he got the better of What A Legacy. Owned by the Irishtown Syndicate, the May whelp was well fancied after his performance on Friday and justified the belief behind him as he took the honours.

Former Select Bitch Stake winner Gaisce Mor had her first Trial Stake winner today as Cree Gaisce won the Oaks Trial Stake at Listowel. Cree Gaisce had one previous outing losing out to Skellig Tulip in what is turning out to be a decent Trial Stake at Cashel. The April whelp is owned by Tara McCarthy.
