Bango prevails in Mitchelstown and climbs Champion Stakes table

Bango Malone finally did what he has been threatening to do for some time and claimed silverware, as he took the Oisin Cup  in Mitchelstown. The son of Jingles and Killea Millie was unlucky not to win a Trial Stake as a pup but he’s fast making people waken up to his class as he moved onto 6 Champion Stakes points with victory today. Eamon Mackey’s dog got the better of High Rise in the final.

In the All Age Bitch Stake Rossmore continued the good run for Benny Treanor who won the Derby Trial Stake in Rathdowney on Sunday. The Monaghan man made the trip south to Cork work for him once again as he followed up  his victory in Rathcormac with another Cup in Mitchelstown. Rossmore, the Trial Stake winner at the Dungannon meeting last season got the better of Go Tiger Lilly to move onto 8 Champion Bitch Stake points.

Talking of good season’s Noreen and Kieran McManus are having quite the year as they claimed another Trial Stake with What A Legacy. The son of Adios Alonso and Belated Legacy had reached the final of the Trial Stake in Listowel on his last outing and running out of the red collar got the better of Speakeasy Foley in the final here.

The Reserve Oaks Trial Stake saw Hi Five Yankee, a daughter of Kyle James and Cumbawn Ellen continued an extraordinary run for her litter. Hi Five Yankee is owned by the Eight Til Late Syndicate and had run on three previous occasions. She got the better of Lolas Molly in the final here.
