Dale Pinocchio takes the silverware in Roscommon

Dale Pinocchio showed that he hasn’t lost any of his class as he claimed the Castlerea Stakes All Age Cup at Roscommon on Saturday. The son of Adios Alonso and Dale Andretti, owned by Brendan Farrelly had seen off With Grim Intent in the opening round od St Stephens Day and showed that, that victory was no fluke as he got the better of a quality field.

There was a well deserved success in the Oaks Trial Stake for Isabelles Charm, twice a runner-up in Trial Stakes already this season. The daughter of Adios Alonso and Exact Science had previously run up stakes in Loughrea and in Killimer Kilrush but got the better of So Long Honey in the final. She is owned by Kieran Prendiville.

Noreen McManus is having a terrific season with her Trial Stake dogs and gained another Derby runner when Funny Alonso got the better of the field to claim the Roscommon Derby Trial Stake. The son of Adios Alonso and Funny Honey had previously been beaten in the opening round in Newcastlewest but he saw off Foot Solution to claim the honours here.
