Loyal ‘Lords’ it over South Clare

Loyal Lord followed up his duffer win in Ballyduff last month with victory in today’s South Clare Cup. The son of Bexhill Eoin and Loyal Leader, owned by Brian O’Sullivan, saw off Skellig Sunlight and Limerick South to claim a maiden Cup success.

Princess Suzie also overcame a fancied Skellig runner, beating Skellig Blues in the opening round before going on to get the better of Go Tiger Lily in the final to win the All Age Bitch Stake, a hard earned success having previously lost out in four consecutive semi-finals. The daughter of Bexhill Eoin and Barrow Princess is owned by Clodagh McElligott and Ned Barrett.

The Reserve Derby Trial Stake here takes the first reserve position at the National Meeting and it has gone to Woodpark Alonso a son of Adios Alonso and Woodpark Rebel. Woodpark got the better of Ballyvaughan, who lost out in his second Trial Stake final in two outings. Woodpark had previously won a duffer in Tradaree but had failed to raise a flag in three previous Trial Stake outings. He is owned by John Quinn.

The Oaks Trial Stake saw Tanyard Clare claimed the Oaks Trial Stake for the Line The Goals Syndicate. The daughter of Adios Alonso and Tanyard Kerry got the better of Skellig Blonde in the final. Tanyard Clare had run on five previous occasions losing out in the semi-final at the Galway and Oranmore meeting.
