Danger Powerstown bound as he takes Corn na Feile All Age

All roads lead to Powerstown Park now for Needham Danger as he was declared winner of the Corn na Feile All Age at the annual Abbeyfeale meeting. The son of Bexhill Eoin and Lisloose Rain was an overnight favourite and having gotten the better of Mystery Eoin and Corriga Rebel took the honours from kennel mate Needham Simple. Danger is owned by John Boyle and trained by Brendan Matthews.

The Corn na Feile Puppy saw two Michael O’Donovan trained runners meet in the final with Serene Angel declared winner. The son of Adios Alonso and Uptown Angel had gotten the better of Browne Kitchen in the semi-final to give owners the Irishtown Syndicate the silverware. Cooga Jonjo saw off Ballymac Adelpha in the semi-final to claim his place in the decider.

In the Derby Trial Stake there was success for Cash Call, a son of Adios Alonso and Ballyina Lady. Owned by Dan Nelligan, Cash Call had previously reached a final at Ballyheigue (where he lost out to Corn na Feile semi-finalist Brownes Kitchen) and a semi-final at Bandon where he lost to winner Carrowkeal Gavin. He saw off the unfortunate Bedford Banker who has now been knocked out in 4 of the 5 Trial Stakes he has contested by the winner. His previous best had been reaching the semi-final in Castleisland where he was beaten by Kyle Bruce.

The Oaks Trial Stake was won by Cryptic Kerry, a daughter of Razor Ashmore and Kerrykil Lass. Owned by the Lifestyle Syndicate, Cryptic Kerry knocked out overnight favourite Skellig Mint this morning before getting the better of Dublinfourdasher in the final. Cryptic Kerry had previously lost out in the final of the Lixnaw Trial Stake to Tobar na Molt and the third round at the Galway and Oranmore meeting to winner Linden Village.
