Fingal Billy starts season with a bang in the Urbs Intacta

Fingal Billy got his season off to a fantastic start as he claimed the Urbs Intacta Cup in Waterford today. The son of Kyle Ranger and Fingal Swagger had been a 6-4 chance before coursing and justified that support getting the better of Ivy Hill Time in the final. The Pat Savage trained dog will be one to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

The All Age Bitch Stake saw Tagroodha, a daughter of Adios Alonso and Uptown Angel saw off Carricktobin Oak in the final of the All Age Bitch Stake. Owned by Noel Hehir, Taghrooda had little luck last season but she broke her duck today.

There was a first Trial Stake winner of the season for Central City as Astana Rubie won the Oaks ticket. The June bitch, a daughter of Central City and Beautys Grace, got the better of Tyco Wonder in the final. Owners Michael Lawrence and Liam Corcoran can now look forward to a trip to Powerstown in February with their lady.

In the Derby Trial Stake, Coolpeach Miller, a son of Kingsmill Dynamo and Coffee In Currow, claimed the honours as he got the better of Droopys Prowler in the final. Owned by Terry Rossiter, Miller got the better of Aodhans First and Sunfire Galaxy enroute to picking up his ticket.
