Windfarm Ivy takes the honours at Galway and Oranmore meeting

Oaks quarter-finalist Windfarm Ivy got her season underway in style today as she won the Corn na Gaillimhe and the €2,500 first prize. Owned by the Hehir-Eustace-Curtin Syndicate, the daughter of Razor Ashmore got the better Skellig Mint and then Bristol Lady to claim the honours.

The Flynn’s can’t seem to get enough of the Glin stretch and they claimed the Oaks Trial Stake as Vim and Vigour took the honours. This was this lady’s second  outing of the season, and her victory gives a significant boost to the form of the Ennis-Clarecastle Trial Stake winner Manley Girl, who beat Vim and Vigour in the Trial Stake final there. This lady is owned by Joan and Sheena Flynn and is from the excellent Razor Ashmore and Quality And Dash litter.

The Derby Trial Stake was won by the reserve Fuerty Express, who gives Central City another Clonmel qualifier. Owned by the Four K Syndicate, Fuerty Express got the better of Local Time in the final. This was the second outing of the year for Fuerty Express, who had been beaten by Limerick City finalist Casanova Turbo in Abbeydorney. Fuerty also has a 28.95 trial on his track card in Shelbourne Park.
