Bunch of Fools proved he was no fool in Nenagh this afternoon as he claimed the Six To Five All Age Cup in Nenagh. The son of Adios Alonso showed some talent last season winning the Reserve Trial Stake at Killimer Kilrush and ran well to reach the final where he was declare winner against Crushers Oak. Owned by the Glory-Kilmilhill Syndicate, he had been a 6-1 shot overnight but made light of those odds to take the silverware.
The All Age Bitch Stake saw Legion Spirit, another 6-1 shot overnight take the prize. The daughter Adios Alonso and Uptown Angel is from a smart family that includes Serene Angel and Uptown Cailin and is owned by Noel Delaney. She saw off the challenge of Killdoo Suzie in the deciding course.
Completing an Adios Alonso hat-trick on the day was Cuine Dale, a son of Oaks winner Dale Roisin, in the Derby Trial Stake. This was a first outing of the season for the dog owned by the Cuine Syndicate and he made no mistake seeing off another Adios Alonos dog Smart Pal in the final. Indeed 5 of the 8 finalists were by the sire.
In the Oaks Trial Stake Tom O’Dwyer took the honours as his Smokey Zara came from behind to pip the well fancied Blazing Saoirse in the final. She was one of two Oaks Trial Stake winners today to have coursed at Fermoy, a Trial Stake that’s beginning to look fairly useful. Zara is a daughter of Kingsmill Dynamo and Smokey Symbol, who was twice a cup winner in 2013 and a Champion Stakes runner.
