Barney impresses on comeback in Killimer- Kilrush

Roquefort Barney made his seasonal debut in fine style at the Killimer Kilrush meeting as he took the All Age Cup from Floating Patriot. Having skipped a prior engagement in Miltown-Malbay, Barney returned to his best as he saw off the challenge of Floating Patriot. Owned by the Windfarm Syndicate, another win would put him in a great position to reach Powerstown for the 3rd consecutive year.

So Long Honey meanwhile all but confirmed her Champion Bitch Stake place as she moved onto 10 points with victory at the same meeting, getting the better of Shes Our Blonde. Having run up the Bitch Stake in Kilflynn and taken the silverware in Milltown Malbay, she made no mistake today for owners Noreen and Kieran McManus.

The Oaks Trial Stake ticket was collected by Pardon Me Boys, a daughter of Thomas The Tank and Down The Hollow. Pardon Me Boys, is owned by Sean Doyle and she saw off Fivestarger in the final, the second final Fivestarger has lost in this season having run up the Stake in Loughrea. Pardon Me Boys had two previous outings.

The Reserve Derby Trial Stake was taken by Nemos Balto, for owners Gerald O’Neill and Kieran McPhilbin. The son of Mafi Magic and Great Ability, saw off Ballyvalley in the final of the stake. This was his first appearance of the season.
