Blackpool Kyle won the O’Carroll O’Connor Cup this afternoon in Lixnaw to move to the top of the Champion Stakes table. The son of Kyle James and Dusty Track fended off the challnege of Cooga Jonjo to take the honours. Owned by Anne Maher, Blackpool Kyle won the Cup in Ballyheigue earlier in the season, before reaching the semi-final in Listowel. Now with 12 points he’s sure to be a contender in Clonmel.
The All Age Bitch Stake saw Tobar Na Molt take the honours from a litter sister of Blackpool Kyle, Southern Story. Owned by Jonathan Best and Michael Collins, the daughter of Mafi Magic and Newinn All In won her Trial Stake here last season. Tobar Na Molt moves onto 8 Champion Stake points putting her in a good position to advance to the Grace Bruton Champion Bitch Stake in Powerstown.
The Trial Stakes saw litter brother and sister Kilcastle Five and Ardfert Andrew claim the tickets to Clonmel. Ardfert Andrew, owned by Adrian Clifford, took the Derby Trial Stake from La Marseillaise. The son of Kyle King and Amys View had previously run in Ballyduff where he was beaten in the second round by finalist Essential.
The Oaks Trial Stake winner was his litter sister Kilcastle Five, who had previously reached the final at Castleisland. Maurice Costello’s bitch got the better of Barrack Shelly in the final to book her place in Powerstown.
