Not Caught Yet shows there’s more to come at Old Kilcullen

Not Caught Yet gained a measure of revenge for his final defeat at the Co. Carlow meeting and went one step further as he claimed the JE Brennan Memorial Cup at the Old Kilcullen meeting in Co. Kildare today. Owned by Margaret Holland and Moira Roche, the son of Central City and Moat Lady reversed Carlow form with Needham Simple in the opening round, before getting the better of District Twelve in the decider. Both dogs now move onto 6 Champion Stakes points.

Barney Mooney will be lighting up a cigar in celebration tonight as his bitch, Brookview Glory won the All Age Bitch Stake at the Old Kilcullen meeting. The daughter of Kyle James and Lucan Glory beat Character Witnes in the final. Having run well in Cavan, Brookview got the win she’d been threatening.

Blueview Rio, claimed the Troy Electrical Puppy Stake for Maxi Collins as he beat Killucan Rose in the final. The Trim Trial Stake winner and Derby favourite followed in the paw prints of half brother Blueview Dan in claiming the stake.

Alcar, a son of Wallace Green and Class Attraction, claimed the Derby Trial Stake ticket. Owned by Seamus Neary and John Kelly, Alcar was making his third appearance of the season, reaching the second round in Westmeath and running up the Trial Stake in Freshford. An even money favourite overnight he’ll be an interesting contender at Powerstown.

The Oaks ticket was taken by Fingal Sansa, a daughter of Thomas The Tank and Fingal Floss. She was declared winner after litter sister Bank Giro was withdrawn following a heavy hunt in the semi-final. Pat Savage will be hoping that his May bitch, who was making her second appearance of the season, can repeat or better her mother’s feats in the Oaks.
