He may only have been the third reserve but Jet Stream showed his class to claim the points on offer in Regional to take the prize. A son of Thomas The Tank and Call Posie, Jet Stream was the last dog standing getting the better of the top half winner, bitch Skellig Bright. A Trial Stake winner in New Ross last year he was beaten in the second round of the Derby.

Our Miztique made it a litter double on the day as she saw off Pumpkin Ashmore to claim the Oaks Trial Stake. A litter sister of Westmeath winner Reikers Island, Miztique is owned by Ailish Dilger and is a daughter of Adios Alonso and Blades of Glory. Runner up Pumpkin Ashmore also ran up the Trial Stake in Tradaree a fortnight ago.

Benny Treanor made the trip from Monaghan worthwhile claiming the Derby Trial Stake when his dog Kilkillogue, a son of Newinn Wonder and Hard To Sell, saw off Take Three in the final. Treanor will hope the April pup has better luck than Blue Beruki who missed the 2015 National Meeting due to injury.
