Dromelihy claims Cup as Skelligs claim double

Dromelihy Boy claimed the All Age Cup this afternoon in Milltown-Malbay as he got the better of Straight Risk. Owned by Denis Browne he had already claimed a duffer in Liscannor this season and proved he enjoys the west Clare are this afternoon in Milltown Malbay. He is a son of Jingles and Nearly There.

The All Age Bitch Stake went with the form book with Oaks semi-finalist Skellig Sky and kennel mate Skellig Jewel reaching the final. The decision was made to withdraw Skellig Sky, giving Skellig Jewel, her second All Age Bitch Stake of the month following up her success in Ennis-Clarecastle to put herself well on the way back to Powerstown Park for the Champion Bitch Stake. She is a daughter of Adios Alonso and Oaks winner Skellig Babe.

The O’Driscoll’s of Glenmire had a fine day at Milltown-Malbay, one of the favourite fields if results are anything to go by recently. Their Oaks Trial Stake runner Skellig Shine claimed the Oaks ticket on offer, following up on her run at Glin where she lost out to Oaks favourite Pumpkin Abbie in the final. She is a daughter of Adios Alonso and Camarillo Blonde.

The Derby Trial Stake saw Whatdontuknow claim the ticket to Clonmel. The son of Adios Alonso and Larchill Millie, owned by Martin Keane and Albert Long, had previously reached the semi-final of the Trial Stake in Liscannor on the opening weekend of the season. He saw of Clonmore Alonso in the final.
