Blades Of Fire blazes to victory in Rathkeale

Blades of Fire will steal all the headlines this evening as he blazed to the Rathkeale Derby Trial Stake and the head of the ante-post Derby betting with a runaway victory in Limerick. The son of Adios Alonso and Blade of Glory comfortably saw off all opposition before streaking away from Ballyglen Duke to claim the Derby ticket. Connections will be hoping he can go a couple of steps further than some illustrious half brothers and sisters including Kilkeale Hero, Vale View Flyer, Boshski, Breska Lantern, Blades of Hope, Kyle Bruce and Black Barracuda. He is owned by Mary Guiney and handled by Gerry Holian. He had previously lost out in the final in Loughrea.

Tellmemorelies claimed the All Age Cup in Limerick today getting the better of Cooga Hero in the deciding buckle.Owned by the Strike A Booze Syndicate he won the Trial Stake in Ballyduff last season but hadn’t registered since. He is a son of Newinn Wonder and Newinn Droopy.

The All Age Bitch Stake fell the way of Moat Matilda, a daughter of Adios Alonso and Moat Missy. A Trial Stake winner in North Kilkenny last season, she is owned by the McDaid, McManus and Foley Syndicate. She saw off Shimmerandshine in the final.

The Oaks Trial Stake ticket was collected by Rossmur Event a daughter of Mafi Magic and Specific Event. Owned by Michael Murphy this lady had previous outings in Ennis and Mallow, reaching the semi-final in the latter. She got the better of Glorious Alonso today.

Nodes Pride recaptures form to claim Cup at Killimer- Kilrush

Nodes Pride recaptured the form that saw him run up the Trial Stake in North Kilkenny last season to claim the Gilligan McMahon Cup in Killimer – Kilrush today for Noreen Liddy. A son of Adios Alonso and Skellig Babe, he got the better of Fishermans Razor to claim a maiden victory at the Clare meeting.

Coshair Orla, the Reserve Trial Stake winner in Rathdowney last season claimed the All Age Bitch Stake, getting the better of Isshenamedyet. A daughter of Adios Alonso and Coshair Laois she showed her class to get off the mark for the season.

There was also success for the Cooney’s from Nenagh in the Oaks Trial Stake as Well Friend, a daughter of March Is On and Joint Account had too much for Breezeawaykylie in the decider. She had one previous outing, withdrawn in from the second round of a duffer in Nenagh.

Ian Marmion’s Lodge Hill won the Reserve Derby Trial Stake with a half brother of last season’s Derby runner up Furey Mills. He was beaten in the opening round in Milltown-Malbay on his only previous outing. He is a son of Thomas The Tank and Stop That Ger.

Carr family enjoy day to remember in Balbriggan

There was a fantastic day for the Carr family as their dogs Howdododo and Killucan Rose claimed the honours in Balbriggan. TA Morris winner Howdododo made up for disappointment in Carlow to claim the Clonard Cup, with Cuine Hero withdrawn from the final. Owned by the Cheese and Chips Syndicate, Howdododo is a son of Johnny Casanova and Your Symbollic, a lady who won her Trial Stake on the same Balbriggan field.

The All Age Bitch Stake also went back to Westmeath as Killucan Rose, a litter sister of Howdododo claimed the silverware from Oakview Banba. Killucan Rose was of course the Belsize Cup winner earlier in the season.

The Oaks Trial Stake saw Brindle Sparkey claim the ticket to Powerstown for Gerard Mundell. A daughter of Newinn Woner and Munie Venture, Brindle got the better of Kilkilette in the final. It was her second outing of the season, her first saw her lose out to runner up Ardmore Magic in Trim in the third round.

The Reserve Derby Trial Stake went to Moon Shorty as he got the better of Ashmore Bonus. Owned by Michael McNamara and Michael Dwyer, Moon Shorty is a son of Killimor Matey and Lochbo Pebbles. His best previous outing was a semi-final appearance in Trim.

Skelligs dominate Rathcormac meeting

There was a fine day for the Glenmire kennel of Tim and Rose O’Driscoll as their All Age dogs dominated proceedings at their local Rathcormac meeting. Skellig Shane, a Trial Stake winner in Clonakilty last term showed his class on his first outing of the season to win the Jim Howard Memorial Cup from Fleetwood Al.

The All Age Bitch Stake once again saw the Skellig prefix dominate with Skellig Sky declared winner in the final, Skellig Jewel returning the favour from Milltown-Malbay earlier in the season. The Oaks semi-finalist joins Skellig Jewel now  on top the Champion Bitch Stake standings.

The Derby Trial Stake saw Oldfriendsrbest take the ticket to Powerstown for the Blarney Racing Syndicate. The son of Feel My Pulse and Come On Molly got the better of Wheres My Muzzle in the final. Oldfriendsrbest had one previous outing, reaching the semi-final of the Trial Stake in Fermoy where he lost to winner Fleetwood Douvan.

The Reserve Oaks Trial Stake fell to Why Tanyard Lass who got the better of Oilean Cailin. The daughter of Thomas The Tank and Why Tanyardpenny is owned by Caroline Condon. She had outings in New Ross and Fermoy reaching the second round in each.

Mustdoitagain registers maiden title in Knockgraffon

Mustdoitagain registered a maiden triumph this afternoon in Knockgraffon having gotten the better of La Marseillaise in the final. The son of March Is On and Lochbo Zola had reached a final and two semi-finals last season but finally got over the line today for owner Daniel O’Connor and trainer Davy Graham.

The All Age Bitch Stake went to Astana Rubie a very useful daughter of Central City and Beautys Grace owned by Michael Lawrence and Liam Corcoran. A runner up in Nenagh recently she’ll be pushing on over Christmas in search of a Champion Bitch Stakes spot.

Ballygerald Buzz was an impressive winner of the Derby Trial Stake getting the better of Listentotheroar in the final of the Trial Stake. A son of Newinn Wonder and Specific Date he is owned Pamela Holt and Noelle O’Brien. Having made his debut in Listowel reaching the second round, this June whelp is sure to improve for the experience here.

Moneyinthebank put some money in her owners bank as she claimed the Oaks Trial Stake from Amazing Princess. A daughter of Mafi Magic and Katiemor, she is owned by Ann Marie Keane and Ronan Hayes. This was her second outing of the season having previously reached the second round in Milltown-Malbay.

Hilark claims the Slaney Cup

Hilark James a Trial Stake winner at the Gorey last season claimed today’s Slaney Cup in Enniscorthy as he got the better of Gundagi in the deciding buckle. A son of Kyle James and Marshals Duchess he is owned by Eugene Hiney.

Droopys Swallow showed her class claiming victory at a meeting where she ran up the Trial Stake a season ago. The daughter of Kingsmill Dynamo and Phoenix Tango got the better of Offherrocker. She knocked out dual stake winner Kingsmill Ariel in the semi-final on her way to victory for Sean Dunphy.

The Derby Trial Stake saw success for Sharavawn, a son of Thomas The Tank and Honeycomb View, owned by  Deirdre Wilson and Meghan Carroll. He got the better of Carricktobin Boy in the final. Sharavawn made his debut in Cavan last weekend losing out in the opening round.

The Oaks Trial Stake saw Chanceme Sarah prevailing to book her place in Clonmel, the daughter of Thomas The Tank and Ashwood Sarah having too much for Skellig Honey in the final. Chanceme Sarah is owned by John Dunne and Julie Wynne and she had one previous outing in New Ross.
