Hunter continues his improvement in Nenagh

Highland Hunter continued his improvement this season as he claimed the Six To Five All Age Cup in Nenagh on Sunday afternoon. A son of March Is On and Plough and Stars, he ran up the Cup in Kilflynn on the opening weekend and again showed that he’s no mug getting the better of Champion Times. He is owned by James O’Donovan.

The All Age Bitch Stake saw Oaks semi-finalist Skellig Sky get back among the winners, as she got the better of Astana Rubie to claim the honours. Owned by Tim O’Driscoll, the daughter of Skellig Way and Skellig Tivoli was withdrawn in the final of her last outing in Milltown Malbay. Few would be against her making another appearance in Powerstown this year.

One dog assured of his place in Clonmel is Derby Trial Stake winner Wi Can Riki, a son of Adios Alonso and Central Stardust. Owned by Lars Wincander in Sweden, this was this June’s whelps first outing of the season, and he’s one to keep any eye on moving forward. He got the better of Case Dismissed in the final.

The Oaks Trial Stake saw Mixed Marriage claim the honours as she got the better of Fortanne Black in the decider. A daughter of Thomas The Tank and Awesome Belle, she is owned by Martin Keane and Cian Daly. She had one previous outing in Milltown- Malbay where she reached the third round.
