Mozart claims North Kerry Cup crown

Kyle Mozart finally delivered on what has been some fine ability to get the better of Derby semi-finalist True North in the North Kerry Cup this afternoon. The son of Kyle Basil and Lyrics posted some great clocks last season and strung four strong runs together to get the better of some great dogs this weekend for the Fields family.

The All Age Bitch Stake was a close call but it was Skellig Bright who got the flag for the O’Driscolls as they continued their excellent season with All Age Bitches. The daughter of Adios Alonso and Skellig Babe had run up the 32 Cup at Regional, taking the Bitch Stake and 5 Champion Stake points.

The Derby Trial Stake saw Away Razor claim something of an upset this morning, getting the better of Jamaica Jude this morning before seeing of Sharkinthedark in the final. The June pup, making his debut for the O’Connors and the Razor Gang Syndicate. He is a son of Razor Ashmore and Carrowclough, the dam a daughter of Blades of Glory.

The Oaks Trial Stake in Ballyduff fell to Pilgrim Victoria,a daughter of Thomas The Tank and Cushie Victoria (a daughter of Moat Elsa). Pilgrim Victoria, a June whelp, is owned by Donie and Maurice O’Sullivan. She got the better of Red Mirage in the final.
