Ballymac proves himself tops in Bandon

There was more silverware for the Dowlings this afternoon as Ballymac Seb claimed the Callanan Cup at Bandon as he got the better of Seaside Sophie. A son of Blueview Sam and Ashtown Amy, Seb came back to form after going off the boil a little at the end of last season having started well. He is owned by Liam Dowling.

The Derby Trial Stake ticket went to Callura Sonic for owners Pat Reynolds and Joseph Considine. Twice a semi-finalist this season at Liscannor and Milltown Malbay, Sonic got the better of Oilean Kyle in the final, a dog who was running up his second Trial Stake having hit the bar in Charleville.

The Reserve Oaks Trial Stake saw Miss McGill a runner up in Thurles earlier in the season claim her place on the Powerstown card as she got the better of Classical Magic. Owned by Liam and Doris Liddy the February whelp has had three outings this season and she’ll no doubt be seen again as she bids for a full Trial Stake.
