Ballymac puts himself into Champion Stakes picture with Dungarvan win

Ballymac Seb continued his good run of form this afternoon as he claimed the Deise Cup at the Dungarvan meeting getting the better of Yippee Razor in the process. Owned by Liam Dowling, Seb, a winner on his last outing at Bandon and Careys Cross, Ballymac move right into Champion Stakes contention now.

The Derby Trial Stake fell the way of Go Usain Go, a son of Thomas The Tank and Lemon Bolt. Owned by the Maurice-Mick and Two Toms Syndicate he was beaten in the first round in Clonmel and Kilsheelan on his only previous start. He got the better of the well fancied Breska Diamond in the final to claim his ticket.

The Oaks Trial Stake fell to Downton Crazy, a daughter of Adios Alonso and Camarillo Blonde. Owned by Eamon and Kristin O’Sullivan this useful lady had won a Reserve Trial Stake at Ballyheigue earlier in the season and reached the 4th round in Ballyduff a month ago.  She got the better of Lemon Zara in the final. Zara is a litter sister of Go Usain Go.
