Bank Giro claimed the Cork Cup today at the County Cork meeting striking a blow for the fairer sex in the process as she got the better of Chance of Wonder in the final. Handled by Davy Reynolds and owned by the Teddys Gang Syndicate, the daughter of Thomas The Tank and Fingal Floss saw off the challenge of Chance Of Wonder in the final.
The Derby Trial Stake was won by Gurteen Davi, another Christmas winner for Thomas The Tank. Owned by Tom and Vincent Spillane, he’s a consistent sort reaching a semi-final in Bandon, a third round in Mallow and fourth round in Glin. He got the better of Only Chance in the final.
The Oaks Trial Stake saw Ruby Rush claim the victory for the United We Stand Syndicate. The daughter of Thomas The Tank and Moat Lady got the better of Doasyoulikey in the final. She was having her fifth outing of the season having had runs at Castleisland, Cappoquin, Rathcormac and Glanworth before her victory here.
