Ivy Hill Time maintained hopes of a Champion Stakes place with victory today in the South Clare Cup after he was declared winner following the withdrawal of Missouri Spruce. A son of Musical Time and Leigh Smokey, Ivy Hill Time owned by Noel Hehir and Ciaran McMahon his in his third season and is running as well as ever, after winning at Ennis-Clarecastle at the start of the season.
The All Age Bitch Stake went the way of Isshenamedyet, a daughter of Mafi Magic and Barrow Princess. Isshenamedyet, owned by the Arthur Syndicate got the better of Kilbreedy Belle in the final. It was a first success for this lady at the 12th time of asking, although she had shown ability previously including reaching a final on her previous outing.
The Derby Trial Stake saw success Creggane Tom have a bit in hand over Count Denzo for James Carroll. Creggane Tom has been busy this season, sharing the Inter-Club in Mallow and reaching a final in Ardpatrick amongst other efforts. Creggane is a son of Thomas The Tank and Barefoot Model.
The Oaks Trial Stake went the way of the well-bred Handsoffshesmine, a daughter of Thomas The Tank and Stop That Ger. Making her second appearance of the season she got the better of Classical Magic in the final. Owned by Kevin Marmion, Handsoffshesmine had one previous outing in Milltown-Malbay.
